by C. T. Lewis (Author)
In the haunted heart of 1850s Delaware, a mysterious preacher known as Old Harry ignites a firestorm of miracles and madness at his Pillar of Fire tent revivals. David Lewis, a skeptical journalist battling his own demons, arrives in the eerie town of Haven to uncover the truth behind Old Harry's apocalyptic visions. What he finds is Marcie Lynn, a young woman torn between her oppressive home and the intoxicating promise of salvation, and Talitha, a gifted girl whose supernatural abilities draw the wrath of a ruined spiritualist.
As Old Harry's prophecies of a coming reckoning intensify, the town spirals into chaos-rivers run red, plagues descend, and the prophet leads his followers to a doomed Promised Land. David and Marcie's forbidden love becomes their only anchor in a world unraveling under divine wrath and human betrayal. But when nightmares blur with reality, and a sinister figure in a top hat stalks the shadows, they must confront the cost of faith in a world where miracles come at a terrifying price.
A chilling prequel to Norman's Descent, The Prophet weaves historical horror, gothic romance, and apocalyptic fervor into a haunting tale of redemption and ruin. Perfect for fans of The Crucible and The Witch, this gripping novel explores the thin line between salvation and damnation in a town where the end is always near.
