When we first seek the lord for the salvation of our souls, most of us attained what we sought because we acknowledged that we were broken (sinful) people. We were desperate for the Lord's forgiveness, and confessed that Jesus Christ was the only Person who could save us from our sins. What it took for us to be saved initially is the same thing that it will take for us to be sanctified and to live the Christ life in this fallen world.
