The story of Zephyr Wright, an unsung hero of the civil rights era. Zephyr was the family chef for Lyndon and Lady Bird Johnson during much of Lyndon's political career. Zephyr used her influence with the Johnsons to help them understand the experience of segregation and racism. As a result President Johnson better understood the demands of the civil rights movement and found the determination to support the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
