Translated from the French, Gandhi has abridged parts of the original work by Notovitch, omitting nothing that is interesting and added to the original work many things the original author was unable to do. Gandhi has added illustrations and footnotes, pointing out facts of incorrect notions. The summary at the end of the work is verbatim, but has the addition of several footnotes.
