Author Biography

BERNICE CHAO is an award-winning marketing creative and is as dedicated to the advertising craft as she is to giving back to the community around her. As one of the few female Asian American creative leaders in the industry, Bernice is helping shape the AAPI community as the co-founder of the nonprofit Asians in Advertising, a global community advocating for AAPI. Bernice is a professor, mentor, and public speaker, with topics ranging from Asian American advocacy, storytelling, and leadership. Bernice has been inducted into the American Advertising Federation's Advertising Hall of Achievement and featured in Forbes, SXSW, ADWEEK, and more. Bernice lives with her husband Matt and two children in Los Angeles, California.

JESSALIN LAM is co-founder of Asians in Advertising, a global nonprofit for Asians focused on community, opportunities for career growth and showcasing Asian talent. She is a DEI Champion, lifelong learner, and mentor with combined experience across learning and development, diversity and inclusion, marketing, and consulting. Jessalin has been part of 3AF NextGen Leaders to launch their annual mentorship program. Jessalin has been recognized as the 2022 Asian Hustle Network Top 50 Unsung Heroes, 2021 Nancy Hill Award Recipient, 2018 Ad Club of NY Women Fellowship, and 2016 ADCOLOR Futures.
