The guide even covers elementary self-defence for scouts and the right mind-set to be in to eventually graduate into the armed forces, home guard or careers such as policing and being an air raid warden.
Complete with photography, illustrations, diagrams - it is a digestible and visual manual that covers ground as diverse as morse code and signal flags, to knots and communications.
53,000 scouts went through War Service training and skills during the second world war - and this guide is a testament to their spirit of preparedness and national pride.
