The very title of this book is a sigh, evoking a lament for the briefness of life. To extend existence, man invented the afterlife. But this author does not believe in that and, instead, he looks to the past, to history. This rearview will not elongate longevity, but it will enrich the quality of his brief existence, it will broaden it and give it depth. Time is also evoked for its invisible and yet ubiquitous presence in these poems.
