On a pleasant spring day, three special rats-Grandpa Jack, his daughter Alexandra, and his granddaughter Christina Jade-set off on a vacation to San Juan, Puerto Rico. The three of them have been through a lot, and now they're ready to have fun. They stay in a fancy hotel, enjoy swimming at the beach, and eat yummy food in fun restaurants. They have a wonderful time together, telling stories and laughing.
The three of them together are a family. It's important to know that a family isn't always a mom, a dad, and children. Family can take many forms; our friends, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and pets can make up our family and make us feel loved and protected. So it is with Grandpa Jack, Aunt Alexandra, and Christina Jade. Life can be sad at times, but the sad times never last. When we are happy, life is beautiful, and it's fun to share special times with your family-no matter what that family looks like.
This children's story follows three rats as they take an exciting trip to Puerto Rico, where they celebrate their family group, made up of people who love and care for each other.
