Author Biography

Mike Crane graduated from California State University, Fresno with BA and MA degrees, and completed PhD work at the University of Idaho, all in military history. Subsequently he worked for the US Navy and finally at the US Air Force Academy, where he taught military history in addition to other duties. While at the Air Force Academy, he received the Outstanding Academy Educator Award. A long-time student of military affairs, Crane was also a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, in which he served as an airborne infantryman.
