by Willow Loveday Little (Author)
The poems in (Vice) Viscera blur the boundary between the corporeal and the cerebral. "My language is
my body," Willow Loveday Little writes, and each poem plays viscus in the performance. Yet, although
these poems are of the viscera, they never fully abandon themselves to the visceral. A sly and intricately
wired nervous system, her poetry abounds in wordplay, multivalent meanings, reversals, and linguistic
cunning. It is poetry that is organic and fleshy and yet dissected for the reader by a voice that probes the
inner workings of the mind with surgical precision.
