Virginia before Michigan and Colorado is a short memoir documenting the author's memories and experiences growing up in Fincastle, Botetourt County, Virginia between 1942 and 1961. Without being too judgmental, the author simply wants to state the facts and share his experiences and feelings with a larger audience. Hopefully, the audience will have a greater and deeper understanding of the complexities of the segregated world that he grew up in.
