This book was originally published in 2017 as one thick roadside book. It is in full color, so it was expensive. We broke it out into two volumes and added a bunch of new material. This volume covers the geologic history of the Prairie State from the basement rock up through the ice ages. It contains 26 color photos and 28 drawings, diagrams, and tables. It is the thinner of the two books.
