A veteran wakes in a hospital with no memory of how he got there--and soon discovers that White Oaks is hiding something far more dangerous than its locked doors. Jason Miller is recovering from an opioid overdose when he is sent to the isolated facility. Haunted by a devastating injury in Afghanistan and trapped in constant pain, he hopes to get through withdrawal and leave. But the staff's cruelty, the patients' fear, and the unexplained drugs make it hard to believe White Oaks is a place of care.
When fellow patient Michael warns Jason to run, he begins to look for answers. Ava may be the ally he needs, but the facility's secrets reach well beyond its security fence. This tense psychological thriller brings together military trauma, addiction, and a pharmaceutical conspiracy. For readers drawn to unsettling institutional mysteries and high-stakes suspense, Jason's next move could decide who gets out--and who never will.
