Many Christians take it for granted that Yahweh, as their god, has a right to judge them and then to punish or reward them accordingly. But in this book it is Yahweh himself who is on trial. Collins presents a case against Yahweh based on his character, his lake of fire and brimstone, his scapegoat plan of salvation (human sacrifice), and his inconsistent and contradictory book. In the end it is Yahweh who is "weighed in the balances" and found wanting.
