Lola gazed into her mother's eyes in complete silence, only terror and fear filled both of their eyes. A decision had to be made. Her mother wanted to run and get help, but she too was familiar with the poundings Silas (the boogie man to Lola) would inflict on her. Reaching for the door handle, Lola's mother turned, and looked at her. Lola looked into her mother's eyes with true terror, knowing her decision was to run. In Lola's mind, if The Boogie Man saw her mother trying to escape, he would chase her down and kill her. Lola's petrified voice begged, "please don't leave me".
