Author Biography

In early childhood, Ken asked questions that others thought were just odd. When he started practicing yoga, he asked many questions. He wanted to know the meaning of the terms and phrases he heard in class. This lead Ken to create the name "placebo phrase". Years later when teaching yoga he felt a need to explain these "placebo phrases" to his students. He found this much harder than he had expected, which lead to the creation of Yoga Secrets. Ken recently changed his career from focusing on things to focusing on people. He was managing and growing a national technology company he co-founded 30 years earlier. He taught yoga and created lessons as often as he could. While teaching a lesson to start asking better questions, he asked one of himself. What did he want to do with the rest of his life. It was an easy answer and a much harder transition. He wanted to share his fun and easy method of transforming peoples lives. Knowing what you want to do and actually doing it are very different. He knew those in his groups or tribes would not approve of this change. It took time for him to realize he was not in search of their approval, he was in search of his true self. He made the change. He has tested and refined this method and these lessons in thousands of yoga classes. This simple method uses specific techniques to help make changes and to have them last. Several of the techniques include persistence, clarity, learning to unlearn, and frequency versus duration. After changing his career, Ken started training yoga teachers and writing Yoga Secrets. He wanted to share the life-changing lessons of yoga to help anyone who is interested in changing their life. He knows his students practicing their asana will get better balance, focus, discipline, and strength. The better question is will they transform to a better life and maybe strive for the miraculous. Ken has been practicing yoga for two decades and teaching for one decade. To fill your life with joy he believes you must have fun and humor in your yoga classes. His classes are known for their life-changing lessons, fun, and silly jokes. He has a background in fitness and health. Prior to yoga Ken taught aerobic classes, ran marathons, and backpacked. He has a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Nutrition from NCSU, and an MBA in Information Systems from Golden Gate University.
